This past winter Karen and I were lucky to spend a weekend with my business partner and her husband on their boat. We are also lucky to live in the best part of Canada for boating, even in January!
We spent Friday night in beautiful Montague Harbour on Galiano Island.

On Saturday we stopped at charming Wallace Island, and walked around the remains of the former resort on that island.

We then cruised past the totems on Jackscrew Island on our way to Maple Bay. By this time we were again debating the merits of boat ownership, part of our ongoing debate about owning recreational property. We can’t seem to shake the dream of owning rec property, even though we love to travel to new places and owning rec property doesn’t make sense. Friends have told us that having a boat is like owning rec property, but better. We enjoyed looking at the boats that were for sale at the marina.

On Sunday the sun came out as we cruised alongside Saltspring Island, through Sansum Narrows and Satellite Channel back to Sidney. A fantastic way to spend a winter weekend.
